Always finding the silver lining in every situation!

its 2.10am now..

am up surfing the net, thinking abt stuff, reflectin on my day..

anw, guess wat pple?

I, Peifen, the self-claimed and widely acclaimed foodie has lost the urge to eat due to my disability to adapt to the french lifestyle...

like seriously, who would believe it?

telling you that pigs can fly would probably be even more convincing..

but im serious... i dun know why it has happened..

i mean, i normally feel nauseous b4 exams or presentations..

however now, like thinking of meals or seeing food makes me feel nauseous...

so anw, my silver lining would be that hopefully i'll lose some weight by e end of the 4 mths...

and also, i can save some money!

since my dinner for yesterday, fri, was my breakfast and subsequently my lunch for today, saturday!

im also a charitable person now! cos i kindly offer my food to my frens when i cant finish!

my poly classmate, jinsiong, happily finished my farm chicken sandwich today!

yippie! gd karma comes to those who help others!

Jan 23,8.30am

1st day in Paris.

After we landed france from bangkok, we were all thinking "hey, who said it was so cold? it aint that cold at all..."

Little did we know that the wind outside would literally freeze us to death!
the minute we walked out, the wind blew straight at us, and suddenly all of our fingers and face felt like it had become solid and pretty much felt numb...

luckily, the coordinator from our sch picked us up..
the mini-van felt so warm and nice..

This is our apartment's basemt, where there's a huge mirror!
In france, their base level isnt B1 or lvl 1, its 0.
had to get used to pressing 0 intead of 1.

at lvl 0, there's the washing area which we havent figured out how to use.
at lvl 1, there's a tv and recreational rm for all of us to hang out at..

so, we braved the cold to go out and walk...
so damn cold...

you know when pple said it was freezing cold, i could never really grasp how cold it was..
but now, its like the wind blow right into your bones...

in sgp, my sleeping hrs are like 2 or 3 am till afternoon.
here, ard 10 or 11pm, me and karina are so exhausted.
so we sleep abt 11 - 6am!

hahahah, we have to be early cos from our place to the sch, we have to walk to the METRO station "Gare de Lyon" den take till "Saint Lazare" den change train to "Porte de Champerret" den take a short walk to sch...

this fri, we have to reach by 10am for orientation so probably have to leave ard 9plus...

I miss you Peiyun!

its been officially 4 days that we havent slept together!!

in actual fact, we both know its much more days since we often sleep at e studyrm, each one takin 1 side of e sofa...

anw, i know u'll cope just well and prove to shanghai what singaporean girls are well capable of achieving!

it'll open up their eyes to the capabilities of small lil singapore!

without you, there's no one to stay up in the studyrm with..

Farewell Dinners

so, the farewell dinners have started...

the list goes as follows:

Tues: Xin Wang Cafe w Wei Lyn

Wed: Shan Shui Lou w family

Fri: Lunch w poly frens / Thai Village Sharksfin dinner w family

Farewell Dinner 1 -> Xin Wang Cafe w Wei Lyn

so, it was tues dinner with my one of my oldest fren...

we go way back when we were primary sch kids in st. nicks!

life was gd den w nothin to worry and everythin i could rmbr was only fun and play!!

if my memory isnt failing, we got to noe each other in pri 4 thru dis girl..

funny thing is, after dat girl introduced us, me and weilyn ended up being able to click betta w each other instead of w her!!

hahaha, so weird huh..

aft st. nicks,we both got enrolled into the same sec sch!

thus, we both still kept in contact and stuff...

e gd or smtimes bad thing abt going out w weilyn is that u always get to/have to make decision abt where to go, where to eat, etc etc...

so, it was xin wang cafe at cine...

im tryin to get as much asian food as possible now since i'll be void of it in a wk to come...

other than the yuan yang drink, the talk we had was definately better den the food we ordered!

i ordered the fried noodles, macau style.. weilyn ordered the cheese baked rice with minced pork.

my noodles turned out tasting like ketchup noodles with luncheon meat!

but, i guess wat really mattered was catching up and updating each other abt our lives now...

since its harder to meet up now that we are studying at diff places..

i was really glad there wasnt much awkwardness and we could pick up from exactly where we had stopped!

however, his normally known as Ali G, the foul mouth comedien who claims to be black and of jamaican ancestory!

personally, his funniest video i watched is of him interviewing the beckhams!
jackin and makin fun of them... its hilarious!

however, i might be biased as you guys all know who is my fav. soccer player!!

hey guys, its only been 3 pathetic days since i updated! 3!!

yet i get pple complaining on my tagboard to update...

man, u guys expect too much from me! hahaha..

wanted to update yesterday but after rotting out at the comp, decided not to.

so, the past few days has practically flew by...

sunday morn and afternoon was just as usual, me waking up in e afternoon, slacking ard...

BUT, come 12am onwards, my hse, particularly my 2nd sis and my mum was on accelerated mode!

reason: peiyun's flight was MON 8am!

which meant we needed to leave hse by 5.45am and reach by 6am!

and peiyun being as unorganized and unprepared one can ever imagine just started to pack her luggage.

at ard 2 or 3am, i was hailed downstairs to help her pack, compress her luggage.

that crazy girl wanted to bring 2 trench coats, so many shoes, pants, working shirts and her heart plushie!
aft negotiating quite a while, the stuff finally came out.

by the time we were finishing, it was 5 freaking 20 am!!!

and we both havent bath!

and the worst part?

her check in limit was 30kg, guess wat was her luggage when we weighed it?

42kg!!

had no choice but take out a few stuff and hurry go get changed..

by the time we reached airport, we were a lil late alr but still made it!

at the check in area, it was a mild cryin scene as only my elder sis cried.

my mum managed to hold hers in as my uncle was there...

else, they would be a lil more tears ard!

so becos of my sister's unorganized time mgmt skills and my helpfullness and niceness to help her, my monday was ruined becos aft reachin home, i crashed and slept all the way till 9pm!

ahhhhhh, shiok!

so people, you see thats why i haven been updating becos i haven been awake for enuf time to have an eventful enough day!

Uni Apps ANXIETY!

so fast its coming to the end of my poly life alr...

i could rmbr myself in yr1 hopin for poly life to end as quick as possible...

now, im so scared it ends cos im scared i cant get into a local U!

moreover, i wun be ard if they call for any interviews

unless they're so nice and is willing to do an overseas phone interview!

which i highly doubt so..

im going for the NTU talk tmrw at Suntec Convention from 2-4pm

gonna attend the Accountancy/Biz talk & Admission Matters talk to ask them abt my Negocia cert which will be arriving later...

oh yah, going with Lee Kian and Natalie...

but dun tink they'll be going for the admission matter talks.

dang!

apparently, there was a NUS talk in school dis wed..

i din go since i din know abt it!

Joy and Relief to cancel items off ur list!

these couple of days have been filled w buying necessities for e trip + started packing a lil...

thou me and peiyun(China) will be going, the one dat was the busiest was my MUM!

she has an amazing memory, reminding us stuff when we forget.. which is quite often..

washing and ironing stuff, getting "insider" info for us from my relatives...

digicam was borrowed from my sis bf.

Kodak 4.0 Megapixel.

Creative webcam! got 2 at $58 only.

there's currently 3 at home. 1 for me in france, 1 for peiyun in shanghai, 1 for those at home.

hahaha... so fun..

it looks quite big in e photo, but its only like 10cm long?

last item is the body lotion..
got a bottle of Jergens body moisturiser..
since its a 24 hr one, i figured it'll be quite gd..

cos our time diff and theirs is like 7hrs.
their 7 hrs after us..

just got back from Tomato the alien's farewell....
or most know her as plain ol' hweling. ahah,my fren has so many aliases...

being there to send someone off knowing very well that soon it's gonna be ur turn made me have a myriad of feelings... 1st time had such feelings at the airport...
ahhhhhhhhhhh.... c'est la vie!

anw, her flight was delayed twice from 11pm to 2.30am!
pray hard that it wun be delayed anymore!!

so, my very nice sis picked caiyun and sent both of us all the way to the airport...
saved like 1hr of travelling time!

hweling looked so student-like at the airport!
with her specs, turtle-neck, sneakers and without any make-up!
